Why not take a short walk from your holiday villa to Vale do Lobo's beautiful sandy beach, where water-sports are available. Rent a sunbed and umbrella or find a quieter spot up the beach and set up your own. Take a walk up to Dunas Douradas or, in the other direction, up towards Quarteira. Various beach bars/restaurants will be available en route.
Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy is one of the biggest tennis facilities in Portugal. It has 14 hard courts (4 with new Savanah artificial grass and 6 floodlit), 1 paddle tennis court and 1 mini court for children. They offer adult and junior private or group coaching on weekly or long weekend basis. The clubhouse, overlooking the courts, has reception, swimming pool, pro-shop, tennis café/bar with satellite TV, gym, sauna, steam room, massage room and children’s fun club with pool table, table football and video games. The Academy has hosted a number of major tournaments and still attracts professional tennis champions to its annual ATP Seniors Grand Champions Event.
Kangaroo Children's Club (ex Penguin Club) run by the Dona Filipa Hotel (open from April until end October) - hourly, part day or daily membership (local charge). This club, located near the beach and praca (centre) at Vale do Lobo, caters for children from 6 months to 12 years. The club covers over 2000 sq m. and includes an indoor activity room, an adventure playground, an outdoor swimming pool, table tennis, badminton and volleyball. Excursions and sports lessons can also be organised for the older children.
