TUSCANY
Italy
is a beautiful country offering spectacular scenery, a wealth of
art, culture and history, not to mention some delicious food and
wine!
We are pleased to introduce you to a number of select holiday
properties we have chosen in the particularly scenic area of
Chianti in the region of TUSCANY.
Tuscany
(La Toscana) is perhaps one of the best known areas of Italy,
famous
for its rolling landscape of olive groves, Cypress
trees and vineyards and an exquisite honey-toned light that has
inspired artists for centuries. There are many places to visit,
the beautiful cities of Florence and Siena, Pisa’s Piazza
dei Miracoli dominated by the amazing Leaning Tower, and the
picturesque medieval hilltop towns of Monteriggioni and San Gimignano,
amongst many others. Also worth a visit, especially for wine
lovers, is the Chianti Classico wine growing area, based around
the charming towns of Castellina, Greve, Gaiole and Radda.
There
are many things to tempt you - whether its dining out in one
of
the many delightful squares, watching the world go
by, wandering around Florence’s fashion houses or flea
markets, or attending one of the many yearly colourful medieval
festivals such as ‘The Palio’ horse race in Siena.
Also worth remembering is the fact that Tuscany does have a coastline
so you can also enjoy an outing to the beach. Alternatively just
relax by your pool for the day and soak up the sunshine!
Italy generally enjoys a mild climate in spring and autumn,
and a hot and humid one in the summer. For beach and pool holiday
makers, the best time generally to travel is in the summer (June-Sept),
whilst spring and autumn are perhaps better for those wishing
to explore places of cultural interest as well. Please note that
all the properties are situated in rural locations and therefore
a car is essential.
With
the growth of the low cost airlines flying into Italy, now is
a
great time to experience this lovely area, whether you’re
a newcomer or an old acquaintance.
We
offer accommodation in apartments in converted and refurbished farmhouses,
and at the Tuscan castle - Castello di Meleto.
