We’re just back from our first visit to the Algarve in 2018, a little later than usual, but May is a great month to be out there. The weather was warm and mostly sunny and the scents and colours of flowers and plants were all around. We ate almost every meal outside, enjoying the view from our terrace (we were staying at Val Verde) or looking out over the beach or the fairways. We swam late every afternoon in the resort pool which was already surprisingly warm.
All this was fitted around visiting new properties, catching up on what work has been going on in the area over the winter and generally getting a feel for what the rest of 2018 will be like in our little corner of the Algarve.
New for 2018: We are adding Vilar do Golfe to our portfolio of properties, the third resort on Quinta do Lago that we can offer you. With an amazing infinity pool, a popular café already on site and a new Italian restaurant due to open, we think it will be a popular alternative for our clients.
Revisiting Quadradinhos:
Situated not far from the entrance of Vale do Lobo, this small estate of villas and apartments used to be known as Santo Antonio. We now have a selection of large villas available to rent here. The proximity to Vale do Lobo means that the supermarket at the entrance to Vale do Lobo is conveniently accessible. Local dining out options include the on-site Paixa restaurant, Monica's restaurant, which is in walking distance near the entrance to Vale do Lobo, as well as various restaurants at the popular beachside Praca in Vale do Lobo.
Renovations at Four Seasons Fairways: Over the winter this Quinta do Lago resort has renovated its pool area to create a new poolside bar and informal restaurant and is due to open a formal restaurant shortly. The outdoor pool is also now heated. We think it is looking fantastic.
Other New Properties at Vale do Lobo:
We have also added to our portfolio of properties at Vale do Lobo, to include 3 fabulously located villas at Vale do Lobo overlooking the sea, and just minutes walk from the popular praca.
Cocktails by the sea: Roof top bars seem to be on trend at the moment. We watched the sunset from the bar at Maria’s on Dunas Douradas. Order a drink and then sit back on one of the comfy sofas and enjoy the view of the waves coming in to shore. Other roof top options include the Deck and Sandbanks on Vale do Lobo. Other old favourites for cocktails and snacks include Breeze (also at Vale do Lobo) and Koko Beach at Quinta do Lago.
